Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, 81, has once again raised alarms about his health by appearing to freeze while speaking to the press, just one month after he suffered a near-identical episode in July.

In the video captured by NBC affiliate WLWT earlier today, McConnell froze for over 30 seconds after a reporter asked him about whether he would run for reelection in 2026. After an uncomfortable silence, aides led him away.

The moment was eerily similar to the July 26th incident when McConnell froze while talking to reporters, which also ended with an aide taking him away. At the time, people speculated on whether the Kentucky Senator was suffering from a stroke. His office brushed away questions about his health, and he was able to return to the press conference later. McConnell also returned to the press conference after a brief break in this instance.

It's unknown what health maladies McConnell could be suffering from, though some wonder if it is connected to a concussion he suffered in May.

The viral video led to increased calls for McConnell and fellow Senator Dianne Feinstein, 90, to resign, while others called for term and age limits for politicians.

The terms elder abuse and retire also trended on Twitter / X as the video spread across the platform.

Once is bad. Twice in a relatively short frame is an active medical crisis. And who knows how many more times off camera?

Yeah, you could shrug it off for happening once. Twice like this and it's looking like a pattern.

I have an uncle this happened to. It was, in fact, a sign he'd had a stroke and didn't realize it.

We are currently living under a worse gerontocracy than the Soviet Union. One thing hopefully everyone can agree on is that we need more young, motivated people in government rather than these horribly corrupt, decrepit ghouls. It feels like they're there more out of tradition rather than qualification.

Unfortunately these people have set it up sot that you can only get in if you are as corrupt as them and the only way to get THAT corrupt is to work at it for decades.

Feinstein also actually filled suit for "financial elder abuse" against her husband state. Let that sink in.
