"You Are Bad Guy" is a memorable quote uttered by the video game character Zangief in the 2012 American animated film Wreck-It Ralph. Screenshots of the character saying the line has since been used by people online by those expressing the opinion that someone has been unfairly prosecuted.

Origin

On November 2nd, 2012, the film Wreck-It Ralph premiered in the United States.[1] In the film, the titular character (voiced by John C. Reilly) attends a support group for video game antagonists. One of the members of the group, Zangief from the video game series Street Fighter, says, "You are bad guy, but this does not mean you are bad guy."

Several months later, the official Wreck-It Ralph YouTube shared the clip on YouTube. The post received more than 1.6 million views in six years (shown below).

On July 20th, 2016, the Twitter [2] account @gamingbible posted a two-panel image macro of the scene as the punchline to the caption "Shooting a teammate when friendly fire is on" (shown below, left).

Nearly three years later, on February 26th, 2019, Redditor [3] Squeggsegg posted the same image as the reaction to the news headline "Burglar Finds Kiddie Porn While Robbing a House; Calls Cops on Soccer Coach." The post received more than 23,000 points (96% upvoted) and 740 comments in less than three weeks (shown below, center).

The following day, Twitter[4] user @PTSDGuts posted the image next to an image of a news article with the headline "Florida Man Confesses to Attempting to 'Barbecue' Child Molesters." The post received more than 1,000 retweets and 5,000 likes in less than three weeks (shown below, right).
