About

When the Video Is So Fire You Gotta Send It to X, also known as When the Video Is So Fire You Gotta Share It to X, refers to a phrasal template that jokes about a TikTok video being so good ("fire") that it prompts the viewer to share it with an obscure contact. The contact is usually a person-less entity like an iOS app, company or brand. The meme videos were mostly shared on TikTok in early 2024, paired with rapper Lil Jon's verse on the song "Turn Down for What." The memes fall under the category of Slow Fade-In Irony, similar to memes using the phrase, When the Video's So Relatable You Gotta Do the Ultimate Combo.

Origin

On March 4th, 2024, TikToker[1] @stinkypoop999 posted a video (with a slowed remix of "Turn Down For What") in which a meme slowly faded in reading in all caps, "WHEN THE VIDEO SO FIRE YOU SEND IT TO YOURSELF." Over four days, it received roughly 3 million plays and 621,200 likes (shown below).

Spread

Going into March 2024, users added to the TikTok sound[2] with videos following the same format. For instance, on March 4th, 2024, TikToker[3] @grandmainasink posted a video about sending a post to Mike Kara, gaining over 968,500 plays and 199,100 likes in four days (shown below, left).

On March 5th, 2024, TikToker[3] @fwshanxyyy shared an iteration about sending a video to the flashlight app, earning over 3.6 million plays and 699,000 likes in three days (shown below, right).

Spanish-speaking creators also joined the trend, such as TikToker[4] @nome_gusta_el_anime on March 7th, 2024, whose version about the weather app gained over 531,700 plays and 41,900 likes in one day (shown below).

When the Video's So Relatable You Gotta Do the Ultimate Combo

When the Video's So Relatable You Gotta Do the Ultimate Combo, also known as When the Video's So Relatable You Gotta Pull This Move, refers to a series of memes that identify an "ultimate combo" of liking, saving, bookmarking, reposting, commenting and sending to a friend when met with a truly "relatable" video on TikTok. The meme videos were shared on TikTok in early 2024, paired with rapper Lil Jon's verse on the song "Turn Down for What."
