Today is Monday, which means that Gandalf gets to lick a graham cracker.

The video received viral spread as it was actively reposted in the following weeks. For example, on February 14th, 2022, gimmick Twitter[5] account @CatTikToks reposted the video, with the upload gaining over 8,000 views, 190 retweets and 890 likes prior to the account's suspension.

In the following months, @indooroutdoorcat posted multiple videos[6][7][8] of Gandalf licking a graham cracker, all narrated in a manner similar to nature documentaries, most ending with the phrase "it is her favorite activity" (examples shown below).

Many of the uploads were then reposted by the Twitter[9][10] gimmick account @CatTikToks, helping the spread of the meme and viral videos beyond TikTok.

Starting at least as early as July 2022, the Gandalf Graham posts became a subject of parodies as other TikTok users posted cat TikToks copying their style. For example, on July 5th, 2022, TikToker[11] @themightyboop posted a video featuring his cat Oreo that gained over 220,000 views and 45,000 likes in two months (shown below, left). On July 15th, TikToker[12] @grahammclernon posted a similar video about their cat Tang that gained over 592,000 views and 110,000 likes in one month (shown below, right).
