Think You the Shit, Bitch! You Not Even the Fart are lyrics from an unreleased Ice Spice song based on a meme showing Mario smoking a joint with Impact captions reading, "BITCHES BE THINKING THEY THE SHIT BUT THEY AINT EVEN THE FART!!" Ice Spice previewed the song on TikTok early January 2024, leading to memetic usage of the sound.

Origin

Usage of the "you ain't even the fart" concept dates as far back as 2012 via non-viral tweets.^[1] Text posts reiterating the catchphrase surfaced on Pinterest, ^[2] Facebook ^[3] and Instagram ^[4] in the late 2010s and early 2020s.

In 2020, a meme was made with the catchphrase that read in Impact captions, "BITCHES BE THINKING THEY THE SHIT BUT THEY AINT EVEN THE FART!!" showing Mario smoking a joint. Currently, the first known upload of the image was posted by iFunnier^[5] @IronManLOHH on September 10th, 2020, gaining over 410 smiles in four years (shown below).

In 2021 and 2022, the image gained viral reposts on X^[6] and Tumblr,^[7] among other sites.

On January 8th, 2024, Ice Spice posted a video to TikTok^[8] that leaked a snippet from an upcoming song with the lyrics, "Think you the shit, bitch! You not even the fart." The video showed the aforementioned Mario meme. Over three days, the TikTok received roughly 7.2 million plays and 1.3 million likes (shown below).

Ice Spice also posted the video to her X^[9] account that day, gaining over 6.9 million views and 84,000 likes in three days.

The song quickly gained usage as a TikTok sound in early January 2024.^[10] For instance, on January 8th, 2024, TikToker^[11] @dreshadyy posted a video in which he claimed, "I'm sorry but… I still love it," gaining over 2.6 million plays and 430,600 likes in three days (shown below, left).

On January 10th, TikToker^[12] @benecft posted a video with the sound that had a POV caption about writing an essay and "words start flowing out of nowhere," gaining over 5.2 million plays and 1.9 million likes in one day (shown below, right).

Ice Spice's lyrics earned viral references on X^[13]^[14] during the same timeframe. By January 11th, 2024, the trend's primary TikTok sound^[10] had amassed over 39,800 videos using it.
