That Body of Yours Is Absurd is a private text message purportedly sent by Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine to Instagram model Maryka as a part of their sexting exchange that emerged in September 2022 during the cheating scandal. On social media, the message has been parodied as an exploitable meme template as users paired it with various images, such as fictional characters Frank Reynolds and Jar Jar Binks, to produce a humorous effect.

Origin

On September 20th, 2022, after Instagram model Sumner Stroh revealed flirtatious texts allegedly sent to her by Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine, Instagram model Maryka came forward with screenshots of messages sent to her by the singer, posting them to her Instagram stories. On September 20th, Instagram^[1] user igfamousbydana shared the texts in a video (shown below).

One of the messages sent to Maryka by Adam Levine reads: "Holy f--k. Holy f--king f--king. That body of yours is absurd."

Later on September 20th, 2022, Twitter^[2] user @faithwithanf tweeted a screenshot of the exchange between Levine and Maryka, commenting, "white people flirting is insane." The tweet gained over 14,700 retweets and 233,400 likes in three days (shown below, left). Later that day, Twitter^[3] user @firagawalkwthme made the earliest joke based on the screenshot, captioning it, "me eating all the bread at The Last Supper." The tweet gained over 13,000 retweets and 135,900 likes in three days (shown below, right).

Also on September 20th, Twitter^[4] user @rad_milk posted a meme in which he imagined the image sent to Adam Levine that prompted such a response. The post (shown below, left) gained over 6,000 retweets and 88,100 likes in three days.

The post also inspired a meme format in which users replaced the image with other images. For example, on September 21st, Twitter^[5] gimmick account @GatorsDaily tweeted a meme that received over 28,000 retweets and 322,100 likes in two days (shown below, right).
