About

Sue You Are Shouting At Tea is a phrase turned hashtag that was made by the Yorkshire Tea Twitter account in response to an angry Twitter user in February 2020. After tory Chancellor Rishi Sunak shared an unsponsored photo of himself next to a bag of Yorkshire Tea, the company faced backlash on Twitter by many leftists. Yorkshire Tea responded to a Twitter user named Sue, in particular, reminding her that she was fighting with tea which led to the repetition of the phrase online and the discussion of what was dubbed Yorkshire Tea-gate.

The next day, Twitter user Sue Lane or @sulaAlice[3] tweeted a thread of complaints to which @YorkshireTea responded "Sue, you're shouting at tea.
