Online Presence

Online, the series has generated a devoted fandom. The series has a Wiki[3] and a page on TV Tropes.[4] The series was covered by Kotaku[5] in 2015. The series also has a devoted subreddit with over 24,000 subscribers[6] and a Facebook[7] fan page with over 88,000 likes.

Sasuga Ainz-sama

Sasuga Ainz-sama is a phrase notable spoken by Demiurge everytime he is amazed by an action or plan of Ainz Ooal Gown unbeknownst to him that he misunderstood his master as Ainz didn't even planned anything ahead or was just pulling out ideas on the fly. Fans of Overlord eventually use this term everytime Ainz does anything significant or something insignificant as if it's part of his plan.

Demiugre will betray Ainz.

This refers to the usual questions that someone new to the series asks the rest when they start watching Overlord. The usual responses from the community is to bait the newcomer saying that Demiurge betrays Ainz in a volume of the novels that hasn’t yet been animated.

Splat

Splat refers the event during the climax of volume 9, "The Caster of Destruction", where Ainz Ooal Gown summoned five Dark Young that proceeded to trample over the human army. That certain page of the novel contained a whole paragraph of "SPLAT" repeated over 110 times which became a popular quote within the Overlord fandom.

Pope Neia.

Neia Baraja is a character that first appeared on the 12 volume, "The Paladin of the Holy Kingdom", the character quickly became beloved by the fandom, especially after volume 13 where Neia started to preach her idea of what was right and wrong "Weakness is a sin, so one must become strong, or humbly accept justice similar to that of His Majesty.".

In the 14 volume, "The Witch of the Falling Kingdom", she has become a figure of power in the Holly Kingdom, receiving the name "The Faceless One", and holding the same power if not greater than the religious institutions of the Holly Kingdom.

Jet-sama

Jet Testania is an infamous character in the Overlord fandom that appears in the final arc of the web novel unofficially called “The Academy Arc”.
The character is reviled because of his contradictory personality, the cliches that surround him, and how much of a Mary Sue the character is.
In the novel he hates the noble class despite having a childhood friend belonging to that social class, and that they despite not being well off, still pay for his studies in the Academy.

The fandom often jokes of him the same way they do Philip Dayton L'Eyre Montserrat, (A character know for his stupidity.), saying that he is a mastermind and the one that can defeat Ainz.
