About

ai_peter, also known as AI-Generated Family Guy, is a constant YouTube, Twitch and Kick livestream of an AI-generated parody of the animated TV series Family Guy, with the artificial intelligence generating the dialogue, animations and voicing Peter Griffin, Lois Griffin and the rest of the Griffin family, including Glenn Quagmire. The stream launched in June 2023, building on similar AI-generated parodies such as Nothing, Forever (an AI-generated Seinfeld parody) and ai_sponge (an AI-generated SpongeBob SquarePants parody).

History

On June 7th, 2023, ai_peter held its first stream^[1] on Twitch.^[3] The stream consisted of AI-Generated Family Guy scenes of 3D-rendered Family Guy characters. The stream also used music from Family Guy and a still, parody image of the Griffin's house, made to look uncanny. On June 9th, 2023, ai_peter uploaded its first full-length stream to YouTube,^[5] gaining over 3,300 views (shown below).

Thereafter, ai_peter also streamed on YouTube^[2] and Kick.^[4] The ai_peter Twitch channel was also temporarily banned in early June 2023.

Features

ai_peter hosts an endless AI-generated Family Guy parody stream. The dialogue, animations and voices of the Griffins are generated by AIs.

Additionally, viewers can submit monetary tips to the stream to "summon Quagmire," as in, a 3D-rendered Glenn Quagmire appears in the ai_peter scene with text reading, "Thanks, X," with the "X" being the name of the viewer who tipped. For instance, a viewer named Honda often tipped in early June 2023,^[6] resulting in ironic Honda ads for the car and electronics company (screenshots shown below).

Online Reactions

Starting on June 7th, 2023, reactions to ai_peter started to surface on Twitter,^[7][8] however, viral tweets about the stream didn't surface until days later. For instance, on June 12th, 2023, Twitter^[9] user @g_norm_us tweeted three clips from ai_peter, writing, "Ai Chris Griffin screaming is genuinely the funniest shit ever," and earning roughly 30,600 likes in three days (shown below).

On June 13th, 2023, TikToker^[10] @shitpaint also posted a clip of AI Chris Griffin screaming, gaining roughly 670,000 plays and 116,000 likes in two days. The video was reposted by the Twitter^[11] gimmick account @weirddalle on the same day, gaining roughly 48,900 likes in two days. Also on June 13th, Twitter^[12] user @purplevap0r posted a clip in which AI Chris said "2006 Honda Civic" (in reference to the bit from ai_sponge) and then screamed, gaining roughly 1,400 likes in two days (shown below).

Around the same time, notable streamers and YouTubers started to engage with and react to ai_peter. For instance, on June 14th, 2023, Twitch^[13] streamer JimmyHere watched and reacted to ai_peter live on stream. Also on June 14th, YouTuber^[14] GorTheMovieGod posted an ai_peter reaction video.
