Papyrus is the name of a character found within the game Undertale. The brother of Sans, Papyrus has been found in several different memes since his inception, as well as becoming a fan-favorite character for his personality and jokes.

Origin

Papyrus' first appeared in 2013 as a bonus in the demo for Undertale, as well as in a video created for the game's Kickstarter.^[1] He later appeared in the game proper when it was released in 2015, appearing new the beginning of the game and being against the player-character for being a human. If the player character becomes friends with Papyrus, he becomes an essential part of the game's secret True Pacifist Route.

Uncle Aaron Has Papyrus' Skull refers to a series of memes and fan art that entertain the idea that the character Aaron Davis (The Prowler) from the 2018 film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has a skull that is shaped very similarly to Papyrus. Sparked by a viral tweet, the meme achieved prominence on Twitter in late June 2023 shortly after the release of the sequel Across the Spider-Verse.

Hey Kid, Do You Want A Wiener In Your Mouth? refers to videos featuring a drawing of video game character Sans from Undertale holding a hotdog and ketchup with a voiceover saying the phrase. Initially beginning as a small Sans fan art on DeviantArt in 2016, it regained popularity in late 2022 via memes featuring the aforementioned voiceover, before a further voice over was done featuring his brother Papyrus offering people Spaghetti.

To the Bone, also known as Undertale Rap and by its opening lyric Welcome to the Underground, is a 2016 song by JT Music. The song, sung in character by Sans and Papyrus from the 2015 indie video game Undertale, achieved widespread recognition and has often been used and referenced in memes.

I'm Not Falling For That Shit! is an exploitable meme format based on an image of Papyrus from Undertale standing in front of a fiery background telling Sans "I'm not falling for that shit!" The image and catchphrase are from the 2019 Undertale :creepypasta fan game Papyrus Goes Too Far and became increasingly popular throughout the 2020s in online Undertale communities.

I Just Snorted a Suitcase Full of Coke is a catchphrase from a skit of Papyrus from Undertale using cocaine. The skit became popular with fans, who made it the subject of multiple animations.
