Nothing But Respect for MY President refers to a series of image macros that uses the catchphrase "nothing by respect for my president" to caption a picture of something that is not the president but may deserve respect and/or admiration.

Origin

On June 28th, 2017, Twitter [1] user @makenna_mg posted a picture of herself cleaning up President Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which had been covered in stickers and graffiti. She captioned the post "Stopped to clean @realDonaldTrump Hollywood Star. Nothing but respect for MY President. #RaisedRight" Within five days, the post (shown below) received more than 55,000 retweets 208,000 likes.

Shortly after people began applying the same treatment to other Hollywood stars, cleaning them off and posting the same caption. However, the earliest known occurrence of someone using the phrase "Nothing But Respect for MY President" without a star occurred on July 2nd by Twitter[2] user @kunoichipryde in response to Trump's infamous CNN WWE parody meme tweet (shown below).

As the Walk of Fame meme became increased in popularity, more people began posting humorous photos, including animals wearing corrective lenses, and captioning them "nothing but respect for my president (examples below).

On September 15th, 2017, talk-show host Desus Nice tweeted[3] a selfie of himself with Pioladitingancia, a YouTube star from known for the "I'm not a baby video." Nice captioned the tweet (shown below) "Nothing but respect for MY president," garnering more than 3,000 retweets and 9,600 likes in two weeks.
