Lonely Keanu refers to American Actor Keanu Reeves revealing that he is "the lonely guy" in an interview causing Twitter users to react sympathetically.

Origin

On May 28th, 2019, Star2^[1] published an interview with Keanu Reeves. When asked, "What does love mean to you?" Reeves responded, "You mean romantic love? You know, I’m the lonely guy. I don’t have anyone in my life. But if it does occur, I would respect and love the other person; hopefully it’ll happen for me."

On May 28th, 2019, Twitter users began sharing the article and responding to Reeve's statement. Twitter user @Mirzx_Marzuqi^[2] tweeted, "Keanu Reeves is a lonely guy / Keanu Reeves is John Wick/ John Wick is a lonely guy /I am a lonely guy. Therefore… I am John Wick" (shown below, left). The next day, Twitter user @J_A_Moulton^[3] tweeted, "Listen, if Keanu can stay lonely and single then there is NO hope for me. I'm just gonna roll into a ditch and stay there" (shown below, right). The tweet gained over 600 likes and 30 retweets in two days.

On May 29th, Twitter user @imdonniedarko posted a handshake meme reveal that both themself and Keanu reeves are lonely and deserve rights (shown below, left).^[4] On May 31st, @artsyfilmtype posted a me explaining to my mom meme on the subject (shown below, right).^[5]
