Origin

PBS' The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That![1] originally aired on September 6th, 2010, with its first episode titled, "Show Me the Honey/Migration Vacation."[2] In the episode's first few minutes, the Cat in the Hat takes the two children protagonists on a ride in the thing-a-ma-jigger while singing a song that starts, "He we go go go go on an adventure. The thing-a-ma-jigger is up and away!" On January 14th, 2018, YouTuber[3] Baby Bear Games And Fun uploaded the song from the first episode, receiving roughly 781,200 views and 5,500 likes in five years (shown below).

Despite a 2010 origin, the song didn't become a prevalent meme until the year 2023. This started on June 17th, 2023, when TikToker[4] @plucsnk posted a video that referenced rapper Lil Tecca and the X If They Were a Good Band meme, gaining roughly 3.3 million plays and 428,400 likes in 19 days (shown below).

Going into late June 2023, various TikTokers used the TikTok sound[5] of @plucsnk's video.[4] For instance, an early iteration was posted on June 18th, 2023, by TikToker[6] @lgfmemeztwo who wrote in text overlay, "people in 2016 without cable when this started playing on the tv," earning roughly 293,100 plays and 46,600 likes in 18 days (shown below, left). On June 22nd, 2023, TikToker[7] @moonknightcult posted a video using the song that referenced the OceanGate Titanic Submarine Incident, gaining roughly 2.2 million plays and 468,200 likes in two weeks (shown below, right).
