The term became increasingly popular on TikTok in late 2021, accelerated when TikToker @proddadood started posting "goofy ahh remixes" of popular songs. The account posted its first "goofy ahh remix," a remix of "Range Brothers," to TikTok^[2] on September 30th, 2021, gaining over 932,000 views in five months (shown below).

The TikToker continued to post successful "goofy ahh remixes" over the following months, always denoted by funny and goofy sound effects including sound effects from memes (examples shown below).

The phrase "goofy ahh sound" is a popular spam comment on TikTok, used in videos with original sounds that contain cartoon sound effects and similarly goofy or ridiculous sounds. For example, on December 19th, 2021, TikToker^[3] @baileef_ posted a "21st Century Humor": compilation consisting of a sound containing multiple cartoon sound effects, gaining over 900,000 views in two months and numerous comments of "goofy ahh sound" (shown below).

A sound effect of someone snoring loudly,^[4] known as "AUUUGHHHHH" on TikTok, often inspires "goofy ahh sound" comments when it's used. The effect has been implemented into numerous sounds, including the My Name Is Carmen Winstead sound popular in February 2022 (examples shown below).
