Goku Cult

Goku Cult or The Blue Jacket Cult is a TikTok cult in which users change their profile pictures to an image of a character photoshopped into Goku's blue jacket, as worn in Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Members of the cult follow each other and raid large TikTokers' comment sections, as well as generally interact with each other. The cult began in June 2021 and grew over the course of the next two months, particularly in response to the popularity of the Vegeta Cult at the same time in an attempt to overpower them. It is similar to other TikTok cults like the Hamster Cult, where users changed their profile pictures to the Staring Hamster meme.

Origin

It is unconfirmed who started the Goku Cult, but it was allegedly started by TikToker @.____.gokutard sometime in June 2021.^[1] That same month, the Vegeta Cult began growing on TikTok, in which users change their profile pictures to images of characters photoshopped into Vegeta's green coat from Dragon Ball Super: Broly. The cult became popular by August, notably raiding the comments of a Charli D'Amelio video as a display of their "power" (shown below).

The increased presence of the Vegeta Cult throughout August inspired more TikTokers^[2][3] to join the Goku Cult in an attempt to overshadow their power, who made videos announcing their joining of the cult, often offering a number of custom profile pictures for new inductees to use (examples shown below, left and right).

The presence of the Goku Cult grew over the course of August, resulting in many users changing their profile pictures to images of various characters (typically from anime and manga) photoshopped into Goku's blue jacket (examples shown below).

Gogeta Cult

Throughout August, some TikTokers^[4][5] attempted to make peace between the gangs and combine them into the "Gogeta Cult," which sees users change their PFPs to photoshops of characters wearing a half-blue-half-green jacket. A number of videos began showing up in August encouraging users to join (examples shown below, left and right).
