Origin

Heavily influenced by Eurobeat and other uptempo genres of electronic dance music, the track was originally released as part of the compilation album Super Eurobeat Volume 183 on December 26th, 2007.[2] However, Karamori's song largely remained in obscurity outside of Eurobeat subculture until it became featured in the soundtrack of Initial D media franchise.[3]

The song began growing popular in parodies in late 2016 and early 2017. For example, on December 23rd, 2016, YouTuber parkanaur posted a CCTV video of a Russian car driving through an airport, gaining over 2.1 million views (shown below, right). On August 9th, 2017, YouTuber Malfoy edited a scene from the film Baby Driver with the song, gaining over 410,000 views (shown below, left).

The track was also popular in SiIvaGunner rips in mid-2017.[4] On May 16th, the channel uploaded their first rip with the tune, gaining over 78,000 views (shown below, left). The channel has made 19 rips with the song since in total.[5]
