Overview

Joel "Do a 180" Embiid refers to a question given by contestant Paul Trifiletti^[2] on the game show Jeopardy, when the answer posed, was "Joel Embiid in 2019 won the trademark for his nickname of his that also describes the 76ers' strategy of improving the team." Basketball player Joel Emibiid's nickname "The Process" being the correct response, inspired commentary and mocking on Twitter in March 2020.

On March 4th, Barstool Sports tweeted, "Joel Embiid is now required to go by “Do-A-180” for the rest of his career" (shown below). The tweet received over 8,300 likes and 690 retweets in two day.

That same day, Joel Emiid changed his Twitter handle to JOËL “DO A 180” EMBIID?? and acknowledged the Jeopardy moment in a post of himself spinning on the court (shown below). The video garnered over 115,500 likes and 16,000 retweets in two days. CNN^[3] published an article on the gaffe.
