AdeptTheBest October 2023 Twitch Ban refers to the livestreaming site Twitch banning streamer and Twitch Partner AdeptTheBest, purportedly due to her illegally leaking the DMs of ex-partner xQc during an October 3rd, 2023, stream. The ban occurred while Adept was mid-stream, leaving fans surprised and inspiring reactions and discussions trying to understand what happened over the following days.

Background

On October 3rd, 2023, American YouTuber, Twitch streamer and content creator AdeptTheBest was served a surprise ban from the Twitch streaming platform, which occurred during the middle of a livestream (reupload shown below).^[1]

As of October 4th, the platform and Adept have yet to confirm the reason the streamer was banned. However, online rumors claim Adept went live on October 3rd and began sharing various private DMs of her former partner, and also streamer xQc, without his consent. Several Redditors discussing the ban on the /r/LivestreamFail^[9] subreddit also spread this supposed reasoning for the ban.

The X^[2] account @StreamerBansuploaded confirmed her banning from Twitch on the night of October 3rd night (shown below), which received over 15,400 likes and 908 retweets in a day.

Developments

Adept's main source of content on Twitch can be attributed to playing a variety of games, including Grand Theft Auto 5, Overwatch, Valorant, Counter-Strike or hosting Just Chatting sessions.

People on social media speculate that her tumultuous relationship with streamer xQc, which ended in 2022, could be one of the reasons she got banned from the streaming platform, as another Redditor^[3] commented on the October 3rd, 2023, /r/LivestreamFail thread, speculating that the streamer "got [xQc’s] phone when he was sleeping and took 700 screenshots … of his Discord logs.” The comment (shown below) received over 530 upvotes in a day.

On October 4th, YouTuber^[4] juiceraudit posted the moment Adept was banned from Twitch in the middle of her livestream (shown below). The video amassed more than 16,000 views and 174 likes in a day.

AdeptTheBest Relationship With xQc

According to Dexerto,^[5] AdeptTheBest and xQc's relationship ended in 2022 and "the two have both slowly begun to reveal the reasons as to why they broke up," mentioning that, in March 2023, xQc claimed that he was forced to choose between “family” and his ex. He revealed that he ultimately chose his family.

Adept Accuses xQc Of Paying Twitch Mods For Sexual Activities

On September 30th, 2023, Dexerto^[6] reported that Adept accused xQc of paying Twitch mods for sexual activities. She posted a series of posts to her Instagram stories (shown below), which seemingly targeted xQc and featured screenshots of his chat interactions on Discord.

On September 29th, X^[7] user @FearedBuck posted some of Adept's screenshots paired with the caption "adept exposes xQc for allegedly paying his mods to have sex with him," which amassed over 4,000 likes and 108 retweets in a week.

On October 4th, 2023, xQc commented about Adept being banned from Twitch during his livestream (shown below), which was posted on the YouTube^[8] channel StreamerTV, garnering over 21,000 views and 520 likes in a day.
