Donald Trump Jr.'s Triggered Book Parodies refers to a series of edited variations of the cover for Donald Trump Jr.'s book Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us.

Origin

On July 22nd, 2019, the book Triggered by Donald Trump Jr. was announced. That day, Fox News host and Trump Jr.'s significant other Kimberly Guilfoyle tweeted [1] a link to the Amazon [2] page for the book. She captioned the post, "Congratulations to @DonaldJTrumpJr on his forthcoming book #TRIGGERED! I’ve seen him working on this project for months, you won’t want to miss it! Must read!" The post received more than 19,000 likes and 5,000 retweets in 24 hours (shown below).

That morning, Media Matters editor Parker Molloy tweeted[3] an edited version of the book, removing the title and turning it into a meme template. They captioned the post, "Make your own Donald Trump Jr. book template." The post received more than 3,000 likes and 575 retweets in 24 hours (shown below).

They followed the post by sharing variations of the book. For example, Molloy tweeted[4] one that changed the title to "Dumbass: If It's What You Say It Is I Love It Especially Later in the Summer," referencing a series of emails Trump Jr. sent to Russian operatives in 2016. The post received more than 1,200 likes and 100 retweets in 24 hours (shown below, left).

The verified account for The Daily Show responded to the tweet[5] with a variation that reads, "Do You Know Who My Father Is?" The post received more than 1,300 likes and 125 retweets in 24 hours (shown below, center).

Parker Molloy tweeted[6] another that featured the Sad Donald Trump Jr. meme. The post received more than 1,100 likes in 24 hours (shown below, right).

Throughout the day, others mocked the title and cover of the book. Twitter[7] user @g3thaunted tweeted the cover of the book along with other pieces of media by other commentators and comedians who also used the title "Triggered." They wrote, "Damn I guess conservatives really did win the culture war, time to pack it in guys." The tweet received more than 12,000 likes and 1,800 retweets in 24 hours (shown below).

Several media outlets covered the meme, including Indy100[8] and Someecards.[9]
