Black Ops 6 300 GB Size refers to an incorrect assumption that the 2024 first-person shooter video game Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will take over 300 gigabytes of space when installed. The false report inspired jokes and memes about the game after it was unveiled in June 2024, as well as other recent AAA releases, being poorly optimized and taking too much space compared to older games.

On June 9th, 2024, the X^[1] / Twitter account @CODWarfareForum reported that the upcoming first-person shooter video game Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will take 300 gigabytes of disc space (shown below, left).

On June 10th, the X^[2] account @CODUpdages posted a correction that the 300 gigabytes referred to the combined size of the game together with full installations of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, and Call of Duty: Warzone (shown below, right).

Spread

Starting on June 9th, 2024, the incorrect report inspired viral discussions and memes on social media. In multiple examples, people joked about PlayStation 4 players installing and launching the game, with the punchline being their console exploding. For example, on June 9th, X^[3] user @RedLightning420 posted a caption meme that garnered over 12,000 reposts and 134,000 likes in four days.

Also on June 9th, 2024, X^[4] user @UltimaShadowX posted a White Man Has Been Here meme about the 300 GB size of the install that garnered over 7,200 reposts and 83,000 likes in four days (shown below, left). Later on June 9th, X^[5] user @DocStrangelove2 posted a SpongeBob SquarePants edit that received over 2,800 reposts and 44,000 likes in the same day (shown below, right).

More memes about the 300 GB size of the install were shared on X / Twitter, Reddit,^[6] iFunny^[7] and other sites in the following days.
