Chris-Chan's Sonichu Medallion Curse, refers to a series of memes claiming that people, particularly content creators, who are gifted and wear Sonichu replica medallions, based on the medallion Chris-Chan wears, are cursed to have their lives or careers fall apart. The curse first became a meme in May 2024 surrounding the arrest of Nick Rekieta, inspiring memes and posts about how he succumbed to the curse. The memes were also targeted at YouTuber iDubbbz, who wore a gifted Sonichu medallion in a 2015 unboxing video.

In the wake of her passing, many fans of hers, as well as enthusiasts of Dogecoin and other Doge-related memes, began to post memorials, fan art, tributes and their favorite memes from Dogelore as their way of paying respects. The dog's death also garnered considerable press and media coverage around the globe.

Mizzy also known as MadManMizzy is a British TikTok prank artist who has gotten into legal and social trouble for his various pranks. His rise to prominence as a result of his Walking Into Random Homes video revealed a history of other pranks involving dognapping, assault, and threatening to kill people.

I'm Looking for A Man in Finance refers to a song and viral challenge on TikTok that started with a vocal spoken word performance by content creator @girl_on_couch, which other creators then paired with backing tracks, drums and other musical elements. The song and challenge gained virality in the spring of 2024.

Aura is a slang term that was popularized online in 2023 and 2024, often used to compliment men for their charisma or presence. The term first grew prevalent in soccer and basketball communities on X / Twitter, likely due to people commending Liverpool player Van Dijk for his "aura." Memes about people's "auras" continued to spread in 2024, as seen in the Can You Be Fat and Still Have Aura and Level 1 Aura. Jokes about gaining and losing "aura points" also notably spread on TikTok in May 2024.

"The Portal" Sculptures or The Portal Project refers to a series of art installations by Lithuanian artist and entrepreneur Benediktas Gylys in which visual "portal" sculptures made of concrete surrounding a large circular screen with a camera on top are placed in two different locations on earth, allowing people from one location to see and interact with people in the other location in real time. The first portals were installed in Lithuania and Poland in 2021. The second set of portals, the Dublin to New York City Portals, were launched in May 2024, becoming the subject of media and online attention, inspiring memes.
